The City Thorne is a large residential project located to the northeast of Guangzhou, the largest city in southern China. This project boasts an exceptional location, situated to the east of Baiyun Mountain, also known as White Cloud Mountain. Baiyun Mountain is a renowned scenic area in Guangzhou, offering spectacular views from its summit, which is often enveloped in white clouds. Fifteen high-rise residential buildings of varying scales are arranged to enclose green spaces, maximizing mountain views from both the buildings and the surrounding landscape zones. The green spaces are divided into four magnificent zones, which are interconnected through water features, circulation paths, and decks. Given the site's proximity to the mountain, the design concept for this project reflects the essence of Baiyun Mountain and its natural cycles, such as its topography (hilly terrain, rolling landscapes, and sunken valleys), forest coverage, clear lakes, white clouds, and changing seasonal landscapes. The characteristics of these identities have been thoroughly studied and symbolized in graphic forms, which are later incorporated into the landscape design. The four landscape zones each represent different aspects of these identities, starting from the top of the mountain in Zone 1, descending to the middle level, and then to the foothills and valleys in Zones 2, 3, and 4, with each zone also reflecting the changing seasons of the mountain.

项目规划建设 15 栋高层住宅楼，建筑布局以围合式环绕绿地，确保无论是楼宇内部还是周边景观区域，都能最大程度观赏山景。绿地系统划分为四大景观片区，各片区通过水景设施、通行步道与观景平台相互连通。鉴于项目紧邻白云山，设计理念深度融合白云山的自然本真与生态循环特征，涵盖山体地形（丘陵地貌、起伏景致、低洼谷地）、森林植被、澄澈湖泊、山间白云及四季更迭的景观变化。设计团队对这些自然元素的特质进行了深入研究，并将其转化为图形符号融入景观设计之中。四大景观片区分别对应白云山不同维度的自然特征：从 1 号片区的 “山顶意境”，逐步过渡到 2 号、3 号片区的 “山间风貌”，再到 4 号片区的 “山麓谷地景观”。同时，每个片区还巧妙呼应了白云山四季变换的景致特点。
