本次居住区设计的场地坐落于江北区历史悠久的洋炮局旧址旁，作为洋炮局1862文创街区的配套部分开发。场地具有优越的景观条件，内部可俯瞰嘉陵江江景，背靠龙脊山，北侧与鸿恩寺公园相邻。它具有得天独厚的优质配套教育资源和娱乐设施，特别是年轻化的独特文创街区，同时通勤便利、交通发达，对新兴的青年创业群体具有很好的吸引力。与此同时，它独特的地理位置又造成了场地内部较大的高差，这意味着内部较差的可达性；如何处理居民与文创街区、鸿恩寺徒步游客的公私关系也是一个关键的问题。我们的策略围绕着高差处理、青年居民的居住需求、以及公私关系三个核心问题展开。场地的各个标高通过两类廊桥串联，这两类廊桥亦形成了居民与其他游客分别使用的步行流线；我们将居住区整体开放，与江畔和文创街区形成以广场、绿地等公共空间为主的软性边界；根据青年居民不断变化的自身需求，居住区整体采用了模块化设计，以实现快速施工和未来改造的灵活性
        Located near the historical former arsenal which relocated from Shanghai during WW2, the site is developed as an integral part of Arsenal 1862, providing a housing solution for the regional regeneration project. It enjoys a rich catalogue of cultural and landscape resources, with Hongen Temple Forest Park sitting northwards and a panorama of Jialing River in the south. This area holds great potential for development, with public transport links, various shopping malls, and schools in a 10-minute drive. However, its unique location means a height difference inside, leading to poor accessibility. The relationship between the privacy of residents and visitors of the vibrant Arsenal 1862 poses another challenge for us. Our strategy focuses on the accessibility, residents, and the relationship between the public and the private. Two types of cantilevered pathways connect the different heights within the site, forming two different circulations for residents and visitors. Instead of a guarded border, public space is fully utilised as soft borders, blending with the shore and the creative hub nearby. The project also takes a modular approach to satisfy the everchanging needs of young residents, making it fast and versatile for future adjustments.
