“尘曦”民宿是一对80后夫妇在浙江舟山东极岛的理想家园，民宿原为岛中间山腰上的一处原生的石头民舍。坐看潮起云涌、历经风雨洗礼，石头民舍成就了质朴的海岛文化和岁月沉淀的美。而“在地民居”和“自然肌理”正是“尘曦”民宿设计的切入点。

Zenstay Hotel is the ideal home for a post-80s couple on Dongji Island, originally a stone house on a hillside. Sitting and watching the tides rise and fall, and weathered by the elements, the stone house has contributed to the rustic island culture and the beauty of the years. The "local dwelling" and "natural texture" are the entry points for the design.

建筑日景主立面 Main elevation of day view

本案最大程度地保留了老建筑的石墙、木楼板和木屋架、灰瓦的坡屋顶，营造朴素原生的居住空间。同时，在一层入口插入白色体块，使原本分离的公共空间串联而具有纵深感；在大堂中间设置室外中庭，调节采光和气氛；通过框架结构，在三层架空多个白色体块，并对应景观使其方向做了扭转变化；三层以上形成屋顶平台，以满足无边泳池、露天剧场、聚会空间等配套功能。

The project preserves the stone walls, wooden floor slabs, wooden roof frame and grey tiled sloping roof of the old building to the greatest extent, creating a simple and original living space. At the same time, white blocks are inserted at the entrance of the ground floor to link the originally separated public spaces and give them a sense of depth; an outdoor atrium is set up in the centre of the lobby to regulate the light and atmosphere; through the frame structure, several white blocks are elevated on the third floor and their orientation is reversed to match the landscape; above the third floor, a roof terrace is formed to meet the supporting functions, such as infinity pool, open-air theater and gathering space.

新部分营造当下民宿较高品质的功能体验，老部分保留当地建筑的风貌特征。新老之间目的明确，产生戏剧的对立关系。又依靠中庭、楼梯和挑高的灰空间，将这种分层的冲突模糊并试图调和，最终达到空间上的统一和稳定。

The new part creates a high quality functional experience of the current Minshuku, while the old part retains the character of the local architecture. The purpose between the old and the new is clear, creating a dramatic opposition. The atrium, the staircase and the high-ceilinged grey space are used to blur and attempt to reconcile this layered conflict, ultimately achieving spatial unity and stability.

实际上，东极岛有极致的两面——岁月尘封的文化孤岛与文青向往的流量圣地。自然传统与流行后现代，冲突而共生。尘曦民宿的设计也是新老对立的，尝试以直截朴素的态度，同时满足来自这两方面的功能和形态要求。

In fact, Dongji Island has two sides of extremes ——The cultural island covered with dust in the past and the holy land for literary youth. Natural, traditional or fashion, postmodern, conflict and symbiosis. The design of Zenstay Boutique Hotel has both traditional and novel aspects, trying to meet the functional and morphological requirements from these two aspects with a sincere and simple attitude.
