PTTLNG: Harmonizing Industry with Nature
PTTLNG has constructed a receiving terminal along the shoreline of Nong Fab, near Rayong’s industrial estate. The 21.6-hectare site is used for LNG transfer, storage, and regasification, while an additional 8.1 hectares is designated for the office zone.
泰国国家石油液化天然气公司(PTTLNG)在罗勇府工业园区附近的Nong Fab海岸线上建造了一座接收站。该接收站占地 21.6 公顷,主要用于液化天然气(LNG)的转运、储存和再气化作业;另有 8.1 公顷土地被规划为办公区。
As part of PTTLNG’s commitment to becoming an environmentally friendly organization, the project integrates sustainable solutions to minimize its impact on nature. The office zone was originally a degraded swamp, which had been filled and leveled. As a result, Fab, the dominant native plant that once thrived in this area, became endangered. To mitigate this, the remaining swamp was preserved by strategically placing all hardscape areas and office buildings on higher ground. To restore the ecosystem, the remaining swamp was excavated into a retention pond with a riparian edge, designed to regenerate Fab and reintroduce biodiversity.
作为 PTTLNG 致力于打造环保型企业的重要举措,该项目融入了多种可持续解决方案,以最大限度降低对自然环境的影响。办公区原址是一片退化沼泽,此前已被填埋平整,导致曾在此处繁茂生长的本土优势植物 “法布草(Fab)” 陷入濒危状态。为缓解这一问题,公司通过科学规划,将所有硬质景观区域和办公楼均建在地势较高处,从而保护了剩余的沼泽地。为恢复当地生态系统,剩余沼泽被开挖改造成带有河岸边缘的蓄水池,该设计旨在促进法布草再生,并恢复区域生物多样性。

可持续景观设计
The landscape design of the office zone prioritizes nature-based solutions to mitigate waste and environmental impact while fostering a healthy and sustainable working environment.
To achieve this, a reverse waste management system was implemented. Instead of discharging waste and excess water directly into the sea, the system captures, treats, and reuses resources within the office zone. Specifically:
•Runoff from both the operation and office zones is collected and filtered through bio-swales before being stored in the retention pond for irrigation.
•The retention pond not only supports stormwater management but also serves as a habitat restoration area.
•A surrounding eco-forest was created to restore native plant species and support carbon sequestration.
The regasification process of LNG produces excess chilled air (5°C), which is typically released into the sea as chilled water. Instead, this cooled air is repurposed for building cooling systems and to create a temperate climatic dome for flowering displays.
办公区的景观设计以 “基于自然的解决方案” 为核心,在减少废弃物产生与环境影响的同时,营造健康、可持续的工作环境。
为实现这一目标,项目采用了 “逆向废弃物管理系统”。该系统不将废弃物和多余水分直接排入海洋,而是在办公区内对资源进行收集、处理与再利用,具体措施如下:
•作业区和办公区产生的地表径流先通过生物滞留沟进行收集和过滤,随后存入蓄水池,用于灌溉作业;
•蓄水池不仅承担雨水管理功能,同时也是栖息地恢复区域;
•在周边打造生态林,以恢复本土植物物种,并助力碳封存。
此外,液化天然气再气化过程中会产生温度低至 5°C 的多余冷空气,这类冷空气以往通常会转化为冷水排入海洋。如今,这些冷空气被重新利用:一部分用于建筑冷却系统,另一部分则为花卉展示区打造出一个恒温气候穹顶。
A Multi-Functional, Eco-Friendly Space

•The detention lawn behind the main building, was designed as a multi-purpose recreational space for staff while also serving as a stormwater management feature, prolonging runoff absorption during the rainy season.
•The green roof enhances rainwater retention, provides thermal insulation for the building, and supports native grass species, offering additional habitat for wildlife.
•Portions of this office zone are open to the public, including some indoor areas and outdoor nature trails, forming an educational loop provide educational opportunities about energy, environmental conservation, and local ecology.
•The temperate flower dome, made possible by repurposed chilled air, serves as an attraction for local, showcasing diverse flowering plants.
•主楼后方的滞洪草坪兼具员工休闲娱乐与雨水管理双重功能,在雨季可延长地表径流的渗透时间;
•绿色屋顶不仅能增强雨水滞留能力、为建筑提供隔热保护,还能培育本土草本植物,为野生动物提供额外栖息地;
•办公区部分区域向公众开放,包括部分室内空间和室外自然步道。这些区域形成一条 “教育环线”,为人们提供有关能源知识、环境保护及当地生态的科普机会;
•借助回收冷空气打造的恒温花卉穹顶,成为当地一大亮点,展示着各类珍稀花卉品种。

After five years of development, nature has been gradually restored.The once-endangered Fab plant is thriving again, alongside various native species.PTTLNG has become an unexpected tourist attraction in Rayong—which rarely seen in Thailand’s industrial sector.
As part of its long-term vision, PTTLNG strives to be a leader in sustainable development, proving that industry and nature can coexist harmoniously. It demonstrates how industries can contribute to a nature-positive economy, ensuring that economic progress and environmental conservation move forward together to enhance both our quality of life and the health of our planet.
